I pushed a change to add a uniqueness index on email slugs that, due to shenanigans (slugs are technically generated right _after_ the email is initially stored in the database), caused all emails being sent to fail for around three hours. The slug uniqueness story is still screwy and needs additional thoughts, but I need to roll it out in a safer manner than this!
